I sure hope this is the case. I think Kouz can come back, not quite as sure about Giles.

Giles and Kouz are two of the bigger trade chips Towers has, and he can’t show them off if they sit on the bench. Wait for them to maintain consistent levels of productivity, and they’ll likely be shipped.

Headley will eventually get the move to third, Venable to right.

I agree, if KT doesn’t read The Sac Bunt on a daily basis that alone should be enough to let him go.

As for Floyd, I should point out he is only making $750,000. To me, what’s most valuable is his roster spot, but the team felt his veteran presence and power off the bench are important enough to justify it.

Does KT (or BB) read these Blogs? This makes more sense than most that I’ve read recently. How can Chase be ‘penalized’ for what Kouz does everyday (‘K’ @ 30%+), or Giles (<< .200)? Even while he was struggling, Chase was stealing bases (6 for 7 tries)(Kouz’s only steal was the “back end” of a Chase/Kouz ‘double-steal’). This weekend we’ll get to see Cliff Floyd come rolling out into the outfield – another multi-million dollar contract – going nowhere!
Is it about salary (Trade Peavy???)… then dump Giles – we can pay all of the outfield and most of the infield with his salary. Or is it about developing young talent – then get the young talent into the games! (Let the old tired legs come in to make those key pinch hits!).
KT is all about the ‘process’ (make plans, then more plans, then more plans). Someone needs to ‘follow one plan’ – at least just for a few weeks – just to see if it might work.
