I was actually e-mailed by Tom Garfinkel & came on down and had a chat with him. And actually funny you should mention it but the ballpark signage (making it look like it was home of the Padres) was one of the first things I brought up to him.

Also, that shows what kind of priorities you have. My first response might have been to do something with all the exposed concrete in PETCO. Or $1 beer night.

That's really neat. What were you doing hob-nobbing around the front office?

I actually had a brief conversation with Hoyer at the Padres offices last week (Tuesday) and he asked me what I thought needed improvement on the team. He agreed when I said CF but questioned me when I said catcher. He said "You don't like Hundley?". I'll have the whole thing up on my new blog soon.

Not surprising to see Center yet again vague in his reporting. Did the Padres really tell him they see Gwynn Jr. as a fourth outfielder? After he started 96 games last year, and in the middle of transitioning the most important day to day decision maker in the organization?

The opinion that Gwynn shouldn't be the starting centerfielder is reasonable, I just wish it was clear exactly who is admitting it publicly.
